Bar Code
Bar codes are a great way to identifying products and other assets, by enabling information to be 'captured' quickly and accurately by scanners linked to computer systems.
For many applications there is nothing else that comes close to the cost effectiveness and reliability that a bar code system offers. Many day-to-day operational tasks benefit greatly from the intelligent use of bar coding and scanning. For this reason, isisOne comes with bar coding as standard - no extra integration* is required
Products
Using bar codes to identify products has been around since the 1970s. The ubiquitous EAN/UCC bar codes are a familiar symbols on just about everything we buy today.
If you're selling your products to retailers, you are required to label each item that you supply (and the outer cases too) with a properly created bar code. The Parts section of the software gives you the opportunity to store an EAN/UCC code for every item in your database. The software also comes complete* with the software and drivers necessary to print your own item labels directly with Zebra thermal printers.
Warehouse
If you are running warehouse, even a small one, you should consider the implementation of bar code technology to make your operation more efficient. Properly labeled stock locations, pallets, boxes, cartons and products can be identified quickly by and accurately by scanning. Scanning items in and out of stock locations provides the best way of reducing pick errors and knowing exactly where all of your stock is.
A very small warehouse might manage with a scanner connected directly to a computer. However, for larger applications or where scanning must be done 'at the shelf' (or goods in) then a wireless installation is the best choice
isisOne comes bar code ready for your warehouse requirements. This includes* software to print product and location labels on Zebra thermal printers.
It also includes* software and drivers required for wireless bar code terminals - these are devices that effectively let you take the isisOne application directly to a product location and complete an electronic pick-list (and all of the other warehouse functions).
*All software necessary to print and read bar codes is included in the monthly cost of isisOne. Extra equipment such as printers, scanners and WiFi products, must be purchased separately.
